Single Cowry Shell Necklace with beaded band. A familiar adornment in West Africa, the cowry shell once represented a form of monetary exchange. On this particular necklace the solitary cowry shell is mounted onto a hand stitched leather patch. The necklace is made of tiny beads strung tightly together with a gold plated twist closure.
